Hello! Hannah, Kamryn, and Madeleine are back with our final update as members of the Locomotion Lab. Like almost all graduating seniors this spring, things have not gone as we expected this semester. Before online classes began, we all presented our research for our senior comprehensives at Belles Biology Days. We all passed our senior comps and are on the verge of graduating! Despite having our senior year cut short, each of us is on to some exciting new adventures upon graduation.
Madeleine will be attending the University of Notre Dame’s Global Health Master’s Program at the Eck Institute this fall. The cross between research in healthcare and the healthcare field led her to this decision. She hopes to do research in epidemiology and maternal-fetal medicine in the future. Hannah will be attending the Zilber School of Public Health at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee pursuing a Master’s of Public Health beginning this fall. She plans to study epidemiology and pursue a Ph.D. in epidemiology following her Master’s. Kamryn will be taking a gap year and working in a hospital as she undergoes the process of applying to medical school, specifically Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine programs. She hopes to matriculate in August of 2021. Her end career goal is to work with Doctors without Borders, bettering women’s healthcare globally. We want to thank Dr. Young and the rest of the Loco Lab members for their endless support and motivation. We will all miss Saint Mary’s and especially the Saint Mary’s Biology Department who provided many opportunities for us over the past four years. Saint Mary’s has nurtured our education, love of science, and sisterhood that will ultimately be a guiding light for our future. Belle Yeah <3 #LocoLabOrDie |
