Hey there! My name is Megan Grush (another one, I know) and I am new to Dr. Young’s Locomotion Lab at Saint Mary’s. I am a Junior Biology major with plans to attend Chiropractic school following graduation.
I was interested in Dr. Young’s lab mainly due to the ACL project. Because of my plans after graduation, I thought this would be a perfect fit for me! I believe participating in this lab will give me a broader sense of how we as humans move as a whole, which will definitely benefit me in my future plans. I will be continuing the research and data collection from Alli and Madeline by expanding the topic to include men in the tri-campus community of Saint Mary’s College, Holy Cross College, and the University of Notre Dame, specifically focusing on right knee flexion. Data collected here will contribute to the development of an app to prevent ACL injuries. The current plan is to hopefully start collecting data this spring and most likely continue into the fall to get as many samples as possible. As of right now, I am just getting a feel for the lab, reading up on ACL injuries, and completing tasks for the very beginning stages of my senior comp. Comments are closed.
